A new baby invariably means changes in a young couple's life. Some couples embrace the change, and take the opportunity to update their home--or, in this case, the baby's nursery.

An expectant couple enlisted Lee-Ann's help to make over their new child's space. Lee-Ann focused on creating an elegant, consistent look that would be highly functional without overpowering the small space. At the same time, Lee-Ann kept in mind that this room's purpose would morph over time, so its design features had to serve future needs as well.

Recognizing that a new parents experience enough frustration, Lee-Ann incorporated features that would ease the parents' workflow and contribute to a sense of calm throughout day-to-day tasks. She identified three critical success factors:

  • readily-accessible and plentiful storage, particularly at the change table
  • welcoming sitting space
  • easy flow among the door, the change table, and the crib

Lee-Ann also sought to include design elements that could serve multiple purposes and grow with the family. Today's crafty touch can be tomorrow's treasured heirloom.

The resulting nursery turned out to be just what the couple was looking for. Both efficient and elegant, the new room will be a welcoming home for the new addition to their family.
